    This website documents the revitalization of the Bed-Stuy Gateway Business District. The Bed-Stuy Gateway Business District in Bedford-Stuyvesant encompasses Fulton Street (aka Harriet Ross Tubman Blvd) from Bedford Avenue to Marcus Garvey Boulevard, and Nostrand Avenue from Halsey Street to Atlantic Avenue.

    The Fulton-Nostrand Revitalization Project is a partnership between the Fulton-Nostrand United Merchants Association and the Commercial Revitalization Program of Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation.

What's going on at Restoration Plaza?

Well, after an extended silence, we're back.
So there's been a lot of construction going on at Restoration Plaza lately. The long-awaited renovations to Restoration Plaza's West Plaza space are proceeding quickly and we have the pictures to prove it. The old false facade fronting Fulton Street at Marcy Avenue started coming down on January 19th. Here are a series of pictures to show progress on the wall's demolition. Pretty soon, Restoration Plaza will be a more accessible open space that is more visible from Fulton Street.

Putting Some Much-Needed Restoration Into Bedford Stuyvesant's Restoration Plaza

Restoration Plaza, the civic and commercial center of Bedford Stuyvesant that looms large over Fulton Street, is about to get a fresh new look.  Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, which owns the city-block sized complex, recently announced that it is about to undertake Phase 1 of an extensive renovation and revitalization to the Fulton Street-facing West Plaza in the complex.  The corporation says the project is intended to greatly expand visual and pedestrian access to this pioneering circa-1970's hub of commercial, cultural and educational life in Bedford Stuyvesant.
