Lisa ThompsonDeputy DirectorLisa Thompson joined the Bed-Stuy Gateway Business Improvement District in December 2009. Prior to BSGBID, Lisa worked in Philadelphia as a Commercial Corridor Manager for Fairmount and West Girard Avenues. In this capacity, she administered a commercial façade grant, and served as a liaison for property owners and merchants. In addition to her work in community economic development, Lisa worked with a planning consulting firm to design master planned communities and craft specific land use plans for transportation and environmental projects throughout the United States. Lisa holds a BA in Political Science from Bard College, and a Master of City and Regional Planning (MCRP) from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Policy Development at Rutgers University.

Anthony SaundersDirector of Public Safety and Environment ControlAnthony Saunders, a native of Bedford Stuyvesant, joined the New York Police Department in 1989, initially assigned to foot patrol duties in Southeastern Queens and later transferred to the 45th Precinct in the Bronx, where he served as a patrolman on the midnight shift. In 1993, Officer Saunders was transferred to the 79th Precinct in Bedford Stuyvesant where he worked in the Conditions Unit, the Grand Larceny Auto Unit, The Domestic Violence Unit, the Street Narcotics Unit, and the Anti-Crime Unit. He also worked in the Community Affairs Unit, improving community relations by collaborating with local officials, community- based organizations, schools, and Houses of Worship. Retired Detective Anthony Saunders completed 20 years of service in 2009 and currently works for the Bed-Stuy Gateway BID as the Public Safety and Environmental Control Director. In his current role, he works with property owners and merchants with a goal of maintaining a clean, safe, and crime-free shopping district.
