Applebee’s has positioned itself to take an active role in the Bedford-Stuyvesant community. Many staff members are residents of the immediate area and several programs are available through which Applebee's gives back to the community.
Applebee’s was proud to return this year as a sponsor of the MLK Free Concert Series at Wingate Park, and as an
incentive for children to do
well in school, Applebee’s of Bed-Stuy has a
reward program in collaboration with
local schools. The program allows
teachers to reward students with gift cards to eat for free at Applebee’s in
recognition of their achievements in the classroom. To date, fifty reward cards have been given
to students at P.S. 192. These along
with many other programs, are endeavors Applebee’s is undertaking to develop itself
as a prominent business member of the Bed-Stuy community.

Unfortunately, no, there is no truth to the rumor that Starbucks is coming to Bed-Stuy anytime soon.
