The Fulton-Nostrand Revitalization Project is the Bedford-Stuyvesant successor to the Fulton First Initiative which was lead by the Brooklyn Alliance, the not-for-profit affiliate of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. The Fulton First Initiative kicked off in 2001 and focused on the revitalization of the entire Fulton Street corridor from Fort Greene on through Bedford-Stuyvesant. One of the major products of the Fulton First Initiative was the Fulton Street Retail Redevelopment Plan (the Plan) which was completed in 2002 by the architecture and planning firm Davis, Brody, Bond, LLP.

The Plan is a concept document which studies existing conditions on Fulton Street in Bed-Stuy from Classon Avenue to Malcolm X Boulevard and provides a set of recommendations for the physical and economic revitalization of the corridor. A large part of the work of the Fulton-Nostrand Revitalization Project is guided upon the general principles and recommendations provided in the Plan.

The Plan is available below in PDF electronic format. In order to view this document, your computer must first have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed.
